How to Choose the Right Home Page Layout for Your Deonde Platform

Updated over 2 weeks ago

One of the most important decisions when setting up your Deonde platform is choosing the right home page layout. This choice affects how customers see and interact with your business on both your website and mobile app. Let's understand the two options available and help you pick the best one.

What is Home Page Layout Type?

The Home Page Layout Type determines how your ordering website and mobile app display products and vendors to customers. You can find this setting in your Deonde dashboard under the Design tab.

The Two Layout Options

Option 1: Single Vendor Layout

How it works:

  • Shows menus and items from one store at a time

  • Customers can change the store location using address selection

  • All products displayed belong to the selected store location

Perfect for:

  • Restaurants with multiple outlets (like McDonald's, Subway)

  • Grocery chains (like Walmart, Target with multiple locations)

  • Hypermarkets with different branches

  • Dark stores and cloud kitchens

  • Single brand with multiple locations

Customer Experience:

  1. Customer visits your website or opens your mobile app

  2. Platform shows nearby store location

  3. Customer sees all products from that specific store

  4. Customer can change location to see products from other stores

  5. Orders from one store location at a time

Option 2: Multiple Vendors Layout

How it works:

  • Shows all nearby vendors/restaurants in the area

  • Customers can browse different vendors and choose who to order from

  • Each vendor has their own menu and products

Perfect for:

  • Food delivery platforms (like Uber Eats, DoorDash)

  • Multi-restaurant marketplaces

  • Local business directories

  • Marketplace apps with different sellers

  • Community-based delivery services

Customer Experience:

  1. Customer visits your website or opens your mobile app

  2. Platform shows list of all nearby vendors/restaurants

  3. Customer browses different vendors

  4. Customer picks a vendor and views their menu

  5. Orders from chosen vendor

Making the Right Choice

Choose Single Vendor if:

  • You own a restaurant chain with multiple outlets

  • You run a grocery store with different branches

  • You have one brand but multiple delivery locations

  • You want customers to focus on your brand only

Choose Multiple Vendors if:

  • You want to create a food delivery marketplace

  • You're building a platform for local businesses

  • You want multiple restaurants/stores on your platform

  • You're creating a community delivery service

Important Tips

  • You can change this setting anytime - Don't worry if you need to switch later

  • Test both options to see which works better for your business

  • Consider your business model - Are you one brand or many brands?

  • Think about customer experience - What's easier for your customers on both web and mobile?

  • Consistent experience - The layout will be the same on your website and mobile app

Remember, you can always change your layout type later as your business grows and evolves!
